Some of our most recent developments include the following:
Spinnerbait Keeper:
The Spinnerbait KeeperTM (patent pending) is designed to protect a fishing lure when stowing the fishing lure on a fishing rod. Additionally, the Spinnerbait KeeperTM is designed to capture a spinner bait, which protects the bait from losing shape or form when it is stowed on the fishing rod. Traditional methods of attaching a spinner bait to a rod include using the hook, which causes the wire of the lure to bend when the line is tightened. The Spinnerbait KeeperTM is simple in design and injection moldable. Additional to its invented purpose, the spinner bait keeper can also accommodate the needs of other lures and hooks by receiving the hook and concealing the sharp barb.
XForm Ratchet:
A ratchet is a device that allows unconstrained continual rotational motion in one direction while having the ability to inhibit rotational motion in the opposing direction.
Ratchets engage/disengage at one point on the outer circumference of the mechanism. This causes all the forces to be focused at one point on the ratchet’s pulley. This is a major shortcoming for any ratchet needing to hold even a moderate load. In short it causes problems, lots of problems. Bearings fail, teeth wear out, pulley’s break, etc. As a result, this causes the designs to be bigger and use stronger components to deal with the stress.
The XForm Ratchet is different. Instead of ratcheting on the circumference the ratcheting action takes place on the pulley’s side. With the XForm the forces are distributed equally over the pulley’s side. Hence, the forces are distributed over a much larger area meaning the design is not induced to the high stress which causes conventional ratchets to fail. (www.google.com/patents/US20130168482)
Advantages:
- Compact Design -> Space and Volume Savings
- Original Release Mechanism -> Improved Ergonomics
- Equal Stress Distribution -> High Load Capacity
- Elegantly Simple -> Minimize Complexity/Reduce Assembly Cost
